I went to a wedding today in the highlands of Scotland which was absolutely beautiful. It made me realise how lucky we are living here in such gorgeous surroundings, we awoke to deer in the garden and had a lovely flurry of snow mid morning. The southerners however didn't seem to be very prepared for the cold weather unlike me in my fur coat (fake of course!) but they seemed to cope well. It's easy to take Scotland for granted until you have a wakeup call and spend a day in lovely surroundings.
However what doesn't make me proud is watching Scotland play rugby at the weekend, 10 point up with 10 minutes to go and they get two men sent off and loose the match 31-24: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/8508259.stm . I mean seriously what were they thinking, maybe you need to play the sport to appreciate it but I can't understand why you would throw it away at the last minute.

Hi Lucy,
Here in Brisbane we heard about your cold winter. Maybe preferable over the constant rain we have had here since January. Do you know if the Gathering DVD is still available and how I can get hold of a copy. I didn't get round to it after we came back and then forgot all about it until one of our Scottish Country Dancing group mentioned it.
Last weekend in Caloundra, Sunshine Coast, Queensland we had a wonderful day listening and watching the National Pipe Band compitions and International Highland Dancing Comp.
It was a wonderful day and brought back many memories from our trip. In the end we spent 4 weeks travelling around Scotland.
Hope you can help me with the DVD Info.
John
